Then I did some research about where pigeons live, they usually build nests on building or store‘s signboard. And their’s excrement is acidic, it will destroy the exterior of building. So I‘m think about to create a district in caledonian park for the bird who live in islington, provide the safety home to them.

I found a iron cage which is locate in the south west side in the caledonian park, it near to the community orchard, and there has some bird food cages stand beside. Some pigeons on the ground looking for food, some birds resting on the tree branches.

I inspire by Nesting Blocks from zupagrafika,they used manual composition and graphic techniques transform the texture and architecture elements to the plywood boxes, and craned a district like Plattenbau for the bird.

In the past, people built a number of pigeons tower to provide a liveing area to them, on the other side, excrement be made for gunpowder, leather goods and fertilizer.

The group of tower be build in 13th century, compose by 14 towers, each tower has many holes as entrance and ventilation, a number of wood stick get through all the tower as resting stick, the bottom flat house is for people inside tower to collet.

The Cally park is a quiet park, through this bird district I want it can draw people‘s attention to the park. Friends group of the Caledonian park protect wildlife garden and community orchard, they can used the excrement from birds house to fertilizer the orchard, when the fruits are ripe, resident in the Caledonian Road will join the celebration.
